Recognizing and realizing potential

Inclusivity and equal opportunities in the staffing industry

As a staffing agency, we see potential in a diverse labor market. Thanks to migrant workers, our products are fresh in the supermarket every day. It is precisely our strength to look at what is already available. Unfortunately, in the world of employment agencies, fair treatment of workers is still experienced as a rarity.

Genuine and principled, we do things differently

But it can be different. By looking beyond a first and last name, we have happily worked in the diverse labor market for years. But how can you look beyond a first and last name, and how do we try to ensure that the client does the same? By introducing the cultural iceberg. The cultural iceberg represents what is visible and invisible: the largest part of an iceberg lies below the water’s surface. Yet people often form a judgment after seeing only the part of the iceberg above the waterline. After all, that's how our brains work. We focus on what lies beneath the waterline.

Discover, acknowledge and deepen

Cultural differences in the workplace can sometimes be challenging. Customs and ways of interacting can differ greatly and even cause conflicts. It is truly valuable for all parties to deepen their understanding of cultural differences—to know them, recognize them, and anticipate them. That is where our strength lies. Getting to know our clients well and listening to the needs of both the temp and the client is, for ESG Staffing, the most efficient way to achieve long-term placements that benefit both employee and employer.

What if discrimination does occur?

Some requests may initially appear discriminatory, but they are not always so. Does that mean it is discrimination? “I don't think we see and experience it that way. It's an unpleasant issue, but we deal with it immediately by discussing it with the client,” says Ewa (Manager Operations).

Behavioral change is only achieved when we provide clients with practical support to change ingrained (thought) habits. For example, by sharing positive experiences from other customers and communicating properly with one another. In this way we always work together to find the best fitting solution for all parties.
